Chromallocyte, Cell Repair Nanorobots:
Design Study and Artwork Development
Nanomedicine is the application of nanotechnology
in medicine with the goal of performing therapeutic procedures on
the cellular and intracellular level. In 2007 Robert Freitas, a
leading expert on nanotechnology, published a paper on using nanorobots
to perform Chromosome Replacement Therapy. In the paper he describes
a Chromallocyte, hypothetical nanoscale robot, capable of cellular
repair.
The visualization developed for Freitas showcases
the form and function of the Chromallocyte and the various onboard
subsystems. The main chasis of the Chromallocyte consists primarily
of diamondoid.
Developed in association with ThinkTank Design.
